Helping for Free, Just a Click Away (Part 1)

Here are a three easy ways to volunteer your time on a regular basis. All you need is Internet access, a little time and the willingness to make a few clicks a day.

Quiz Clicks: Learn and Play While Helping

By answering a question—correctly or not—you and yours will be donating to the site’s cause, at no cost to you. That’s how it works at Free Kibble (freekibble.com), where you can answer the Bow Wow trivia questions to help feed animal shelter dogs. Next, follow the link to Meow Trivia (freekibblekat.com) to help feed cats in animal shelters.

Freekibble.com’s primary mission is to provide good, healthy food to dogs and cats in animal shelters all over the country. Since April 2008, freekibble and freekibblekat have raised over 371,000 pounds—185 tons!—of kibble (as of 2/12/10).

Help end world hunger

The quizzes on the Free Rice website are also free; however, you need to answer vocabulary questions correctly in order to make a difference. For each answer you get right, the organization will donate 10 grains of rice through the world Food Programme to help end hunger. This addictive site provides a fun, educational way to help, and over 75 billion grains of rice have been donated so far (as of 2/20/10).

“Though 10 grains of rice may seem like a small amount, it is important to remember that while you are playing, so are thousands of other people at the same time. It is everyone together that makes the difference. Thanks to you, FreeRice has generated enough rice to feed millions of people since it started in October 2007.” – Free Rice FAQs
